“A great blogger, the African Book Addict, recommended this book to me on GoodReads. I was over the moon when I heard it was shortlisted for the Man Booker. It is one of those books that grabs you and knocks you for ten. It is about a Nigerian family. How a tragedy changes everything. It is a very simply story and all families are touched by some kind of tragedy. I could relate to it. I’m not Nigerian but I have Nigerian family that I grew up with. I could picture, see and hear the descriptions of the mother. For me, it was a fantastic story.”
