measuring time - helon habila“I read this book when I was 16. I left Nigeria when I was 11, so I read a lot of Nigerian authors to deal with homesickness. And then I came across Helon Habila. You don’t really get a lot of authors from the North of Nigeria; they are mostly from the South. I love the characterisation. There will always be someone you can connect with. The main characters are children and they grow up throughout the novel. I haven’t read a lot of books with such convincing children characters. He is very honest.”

Set in Nigeria.
